It was sun-kissed afternoons in the garden beds that led me into the world of floral design.
I was given an opportunity to work on a micro farm tucked in a small, coastal town on Long Island where years later I would sign the lease to my very first flower studio. The land itself was brimming with magic and community. We grew vegetables, herbs, and flowers, held a weekly farmer’s market with local vendors, and hosted musicians, artists, wellness instructors, and aspiring farmers from around the world.
I accepted the position with the intention of connecting to how our food is grown and educating myself on the healing benefits of plant-based nutrition. However, I didn’t realize just how healing it would be to spend time with the flowers. I fell absolutely head over heels in love. Watching a tiny seed transform into this breathtaking work of art is witnessing a miracle in real time.
My Story
In the years following…
I gained hands-on experience working at multiple flower shops on Long Island, as well as a high-production design company in California. I furthered my education at Flower School New York where I received a New York State licensed certification for floral design.
A few short weeks after graduating, we stumbled into a global pandemic. With the hope of lifting spirits during an unprecedented time, I started leaving small bottles of wildflowers in public parks for people to find, and delivering floral mason jars across the island to connect the community with their loved ones.
That year, Wildflower Touch came to be.
